Up coming events:

Teens Team-up Against Cancer (TTAC) was originally founded in March 2005 by seven teenagers: Sofia Escasena, Luis Martinez, Kristin McAlpin, Hillary Miller, Nino Rishmague, Sabrina Rishmague and Bryce Zimmer.  Their mission was to bring awareness to the community of the various needs relating to cancer issues.

The first community service project was to create a walk-a-thon that benefited The Children’s Cancer Caring Center, Inc. (CCCC). This is the only free treatment center for children with cancer in the southeastern United States, where thousands of young victims have had their lives extended and saved over the past 40 years. The Children’s Cancer Caring Center, Inc. is an
all-volunteer 501 C 3 registered charity organization.  They can proudly say that 100% of all funds raised go directly to benefit
the children and their families as no salaries, rent, telephone or overhead is being paid.

The walk-a-thon was a success as an excess of $30,000 was collected and donated in its entirety to the Children’s Cancer Caring Center, Inc.

Teens Team-up Against Cancer has grown as the group has recruited new members over the last year and has held other events and fundraisers for cancer patients and their families.  In November 2005, the TTAC hosted an art exhibition exposing the works of five local artists. This raised in excess of $11,000 for the CCCC.  Over the holidays, the TTAC adopted less fortunate families whose children are suffering from the plight of this terrible disease and brought a little holiday spirit into their lives.

On May 13, 2006 the TTAC hosted the 2nd Annual Walk-a-thon and raised in excess of $30,000 again. During the 2006 Holidays the group got together and raised $2000 of which they donated to families from the CCCC who were greatly appreciative of the assistance.  The donation was in the form of 8 - $250 gift cards for the families to use the funds however they deemed necessary.

The TTAC is held their 3rd Annual Walk-a-thon and the 2nd Annual Art Exposition in March and May, respectively. Combined the two events raised $146,700.00.

It would be wonderful to have more Jr. and High School students join the TTAC by starting their own chapter at their local area school.  Donations would be appreciated, please make check payable and mail to:
